Jayne Brockwell

Jayne, who lives in Staplegrove with her son, Rowan, aged 12, has been an active member of the Taunton Business Community for the last five years, whilst running businesses based in Bristol and Taunton.

Jayne is currently:

· A Governor at Somerset College Of Arts and Technology

· Area Board member for Young Enterprise South West

· Executive Committee member of Taunton Chamber of Commerce

· Member of the Local Strategic Partnership.

· Chair of the Staplegrove Local Action Team.

Jayne is keen to support the local business community and to improve employment & education prospects for young people.

Gerry Guerrrier

Gerry, who lives in Cheddon Fitzpaine was a Consultant at Musgrove Park Hospital until 2000.

A West Country man having qualified as a Doctor he worked initially in Northampton before moving to Taunton.  He served for many years as Medical Officer to the Royal Naval Reserve.

Gerry has been a District Councillor for 16 years and he is particularly interested in the environment.

Gerry and Jayne’s objectives are:

· Support the Project Taunton which will bring more and diverse employment opportunities

· Promote the Deane to increase prosperity & opportunity for our business community.

· Encourage sustainable development in local housing.

· Improve opportunities and aspirations for young people.

· Tackle anti-social behaviour in our community.

· Actively support continued provision of local services for young families & pensioners.

· Support the local food economy and rural services.

· Safeguard the local environment and quality of life within the Ward
