Mark, married with 3 children has lived all his life in Taunton. Educated at Queens and SCAT he runs his own marketing company. 

As a resident of Trull, Mark has represented the Ward for the last 8 years. He believes that local action counts and has always spoken up for the needs of the local community.

Mark has served on the Executive of the Council with responsibilities for the Environment and more recently Housing.

Mark’s political priorities are:

To encourage and invigorate the young

· Improve facilities for young people

· Encourage affordable housing schemes

To protect and assist the elderly.

· Mark opposed vigorously the Liberal Democrat controlled County Council decision to dismantle Meals on Wheels

· Keep Council Tax increase to the rate of inflation or lower

Improving the Environment

· Mark introduced the ‘Sort It’ collection service and the result is that the recycling rate in Taunton is now heading for over 50%.

· Cardboard and plastic is to be added to the service shortly

· Encourage all new houses to be built to the highest environmental standards

· Explain to people how they can reduce their carbon emissions in the home
